Description:

In North America, white-tail deer range between 80 - 225 pounds. A favorite game animal with hunters, the deer population in Oklahoma thrives despite hunting seasons for primitive firearms, archery and rifles.

Habitat:

Found in wooded areas throughout the state, they are not uncommonly seen in urban neighborhoods.

Notes:

Male deer regrow their antlers annually. Used in combat for breeding rights, the antlers are shed only at the end of the breeding season.
