Field Notes

Description:

It is a medium large parrot found tropical and subtropical South America and southern Central America. They eat fruit and seeds, and sometimes grain.

Habitat:

Inhabit forest and semi-open country, including cultivated areas. It is largely restricted to humid or semi-humid regions, but locally extends into drier habitats, at least along rivers.

Notes:

Found them this morning eating (leaves?) in a tree on the street. I've never been able to get this close till today!

En mi barrio! Desde hace varios meses los vengo viendo, pero por detrás de mi edificio en el bosque: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/7789083, y luego los vi en un árbol cerca a la calle: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/7901602 Pero hoy salí con Malí temprano y estaban ahí en un árbol y volaban super cerquita de nosotras!
