This spotting is as awesome as the first, particularly knowing your experience when first see the animal. Yes, I was wondering about pets and children, and I would definitely keep them close. A mountain lion? Now that takes it up several notches, particularly in the terror stakes. I've seen lions and leopards in Africa, so know the power of big cats. I reckon a mountain lion would be right up there with them. Thanks for sharing this wonderful spotting, Hema.
This is what is recommended when confronted by a bobcat, Immediately protect children and pets Back away from the bobcat slowly and deliberately Avoid running away because that could trigger a pursuit response If possible, spray the animal with water When possible make a lot of noise (banging pans, for instance, or blowing an air horn) http://www.desertusa.com/animals/bobcat-...
Neil for a minute I thought that this bobcat was a young mountain lion and that did send chills down my spines. I confirmed with an expert that this is a bobcat.
Thanks Neil. This is my second spotting.I spotted one a few years back .It was sleeping so I thought that i could steal a few shots. It eventually woke up and was staring right at me. Truthfully i was scared and wowed never to go near any in the future. These are usually shy and elusive. But if they decide to attack you then it can prove dangerous. Bobcat attacks to human are rare. http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/212116059 Here is the one I saw a few years back.
Wow, nice spotting. Do they pose any threat to humans. As a feline lover, I would dearly love to see a bobcat with my own eyes. Thanks, Hema.
