Description:

Fat bodied legless lizard (almost legless)

Habitat:

Littoral forest near Sainte Luce, Madagascar

Notes:

Very strong burrower, digs itself into the top few centimeters of soil within seconds

I don't think it's an amphisbaenian ( wormlizards). Looks more like a Short-limbed Supple Skink (Lygosoma sp), only I am not sure if you get these in Madagascar http://bangkokherps.wordpress.com/2011/09/18/short-limbed-supple-skink/ Hope some one can confirm..
