Field Notes

Description:

Salticidae; Heliophaninae; Carrhotus; Carrhotus sp. When I took these pictures, I jotted down that this spider might be a female Carrhotus sannio, based on information and pictures in a website that subsequently closed. In preparation prior to posting this on Project Noah, I was unable to find an exact match for this spider. So, as you can see, I have called it Carrhotus sp. for now. I am still working on this one and I should be able to identify it to species level, hopefully quite soon.

Habitat:

I spotted this Jumping Spider in our vegetable plot. It was climbing around in close proximity to another Jumping Spider which I now know to be a male Carrhotus sannio.
