Yuko... Please read to know why we love this threatened beauty... http://www.iucnredlist.org/details/19378/0 In Northern parts of Western Ghats they find more Orange shade than Maroon. In Kerala and Karnataka states they find such darker shade. Southern part sees bigger Squirrels and in Northern parts like in Gujarat and Maharashtra seen comparatively smaller in size.
The darker-colored fur makes him look like he has a bang. :) Incredible series! How big is he?
Love your this beautiful spotting Sergei... Great efforts to follow this shy and beauty....
This beauty is popularly known as Malabar Giant Squirrel and flagship mammal of Western Ghats Bio-diversity....!!
You should add this spotting to the global Project Squirrel mission. Great shots!
