Field Notes

Description:

One of the most familiar ducks, the mallard is found throughout North America and across Eurasia.

Habitat:

Wetlands
Urban park ponds

Notes:

Also known as the wild duck, the Mallard is an ancestor of the domestic duck. I saw these three swimming as the sun was coming up and although you can only see the silhouette of the ducks, I love how the photo turned out!
