House finch
Haemorhous mexicanus
20.6391, -103.314
Field Notes
Description:
Rather house-sparrow like in shape and in case of the female, in colour also. Males are more colourful and their colour variation depends on their diet. So, you ARE what you eat.
(Thanks, Tukup! I never knew.)

Habitat:
The Hotel in Guadalajara, Mexico where I stayed had lovely grounds and covered corridors. Secluded niches too. This place had a sort of what once may have been a bird bath but now there were plants growing out of it...but there must have been some water at the bottom because the birds really enjoyed their baths (and the reason behind the blurry shot of the yellow variant.) I hid behind a pillar in the corridor and took the shots. the housekeeping staff were very understanding.
Notes:
One yellow and ash coloured bird is NOT a House finch ...posting separately.
