Description:
A gaggle of blue-winged teals grouped together in order to reach submerged vegetation. Winter months are the best time to spot this waterfowl in Spring Lake when these birds often migrate to warmer climates during the winter months. The first picture is a male and the second picture includes a male and a female.
Habitat:
You'll often find Blue-winged Teal with other species of dabbling ducks. Often found around the edges of ponds under vegetation, choosing a concealed spot to forage or rest.
