Field Notes

Description:

This is just an exoskeleton or molt of a spider. It was found in my basement in defiance, Ohio in December of 2011 after "bug bombing" the house. The house was empty for 2 years for renovations. I haven't seen any this size in the house alive yet.

Habitat:

Basement; dark back room; on old wood shelf

I was told by others it may be a funnel weaver or a fishing spider too. Could one of those be right?
Perhaps just a large wolf spider - I've seen such spiders near me in Georgia, but have yet to identify them conclusively.
