It's hard to find info on these. They are complex and diverse. I've one spotting that I've never even seen another picture of... http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/7837069 Try this site for some information http://www.brisbaneinsects.com/brisbane_softbugs/Eriococcidae.htm
Where can i found more information about this amazing bug ?
Bizarre life aright. But the females live for two years and males much shorter. I think this woody one is old because the gall is dry and the insect is dark and withered, rather than plump. The younger healthy one looks like this; http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/8190927
Fabulous set martin. Almost feel sad for these females. Bizarre life.
