Description:

Most were all black (females), but a couple had a yellowish head as shown in the first photo (males). There were at least a dozen of these on the plant. They are predators of scale insects (the white blobs are scales). Video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nuu9gWS_AZY&feature=youtu.be
