Description:

Wings with yellow windows.

Habitat:

Abandoned plot infested with weedy vegetation. There were many of these moths congregating...in the second photo you can see there is a moth on the undersurface of the leaf too.

I'm striking out on this on Sukanya. I'm finding many similar but they all have orange bands all the way to the tip of the abdomen. Perhaps I'll stumble across it later. Neat moths. Great pictures. Thanks
Thanks for doing that. If you have a suggestion not to species level it's best to put into a comment.
Yeah, sry about that. It's hard to try to identify species when I don't know where to start other than the form the insect adopt. I'll try to be more thourough next time and will remove my suggestion.
Dear Gaia80... Please only put suggestions up if you are sure of species. 'Clearwings' is not a moth family name. There are other genus under Sesiidae which have clear windows in their wings eg. Amata. Also the genus Melittia has no known members in India so check distribution before suggesting. Thank you.
I don't have time for a thourough search, but it's quite sure a wasp moth in the family of clearwings if I'm not mistaking.
