These pictures illustrate the remarkable camouflage used by birds to merge in with their surroundings. The Grey Wagtail, which has a lot of white and yellow below, is searching for food amongst the rocks in the river which has rocks of the same colours. In the second picture the rocks in the foreground have no yellow so the Grey Wagtail is in the background while in the foreground there is a White Wagtail.
