Caterpillar

Dione glycera is not in Costa Rica, so it should be Dione moneta. However, looking at the pictures of caterpillar of Dione glycera I would say that this fits quite fine with your shot. I can't judge the differences between several instars of both Moneta and Dione. Looking at the link above you see as you can see in most Heliconiini a great phenotypical variability during a caterpillars life. The orange patch above the white area is very confusing. This is clearly shown in your shot and in Glycera. I checked other Nymphalidae and found no similar match for Moneta or Glycera. So, in my eyes it must be Moneta from the geographical range and Glycera from the phenotype.
