We are now near Coimbra on a campingplace. Tomorrow we will go Porto do Mos for information about the orchids. Perhaps soon a picture! Greetings from Ben Engelen

Thank you very much. Perhaps we go on our way to the Algarve along that site. We are travelling with a camper so that is mobile.

Hello Ben, There are many places in Portugal were you can find many species of wild orchids. In the center of the country (near Leiria-Fátima, 450Km noth from Algarve) there's a Natural Park called Parque Natural das Serras d Áire e Candeeiros with many orchids. In Algarve you can find also a few hotspots. I recommend a bookpublished in UK in 2009 "Wild Orchids in Algarve". Hello Is it possible to tell me some places where I can find orchids in Portugal? I am going next week in your direction and am staying in the Algarve where our son with his family lives. Perhaps you can give me some advice. I am only taking pictures!! Thanks in advance

"400 individuals" :0) Makes me smile just think about being there! This and Ophrys insectifera look like monsters from a Godzilla movie! Lovely form with a yellow trim to the lip too. Thank you.
