Field Notes
Description:
A plant about 35cms tall with pale yellow four-petalled flowers on thin stalks. Leaves were deeply lobed and serrated like the edible rocket. Seed pods on stalks were found along the length of the smooth stems - they looked like mustard pods with multiple seeds in a linear array.
Habitat:
growing wild in large clumps by the roadside. Found in disturbed suburban and urban areas.
Notes:
These plants were in full bloom and were growing amidst wild fennel plants. Would have loved to pick the leaves for salad but not quire sure if they are edible.
Identifying this plant, despite its omnipresence, has been quite difficult. I would welcome any advice on my ID.
