Field Notes

Notes:

This is a beautiful set of bushes (comes up yearly and requires very little maintenance) that are planted in my garden in a zone that is in full sunlight for much of the day but is sheltered from wind. It is also an early that stays moderately moist and is a very strong soil.

Species ID Suggestions

Rosa X odorata

Exsact cultivar or cross name of this rose may never be know exactly and with certainty. I would suggest contacting Weeks Roses, Jackson and Perkins via email and sending a copy of the rose for their review and comment.
Yes, as many garden plants, it is likely manipulated to make it showier and easier to maintain
Apple this is Commercial cultivar plant. We Humans manipulated lot things with Good and Bad results.. affected lot Web of Life on this planet.
@Ashish--your link is awesome but I don't think it actually refers to the roses I have here as they are a bush not a single stem rose and they actually need little to no maintenance all year. But the description of the long pointed bud and the double rose is accurate...so it must be a hybrid of the hybrid.
No idea...it is actually a bush not a single-stemmed rose. I've just always heard it called that by my grandmother so I use it too.

Any idea why its name is tea rose? I think because the rose hips (fruits) are used to make herbal tea, in some parts of the world
Thank you! These are my favorite garden plants as they are by far my easiest to take care of...and they are very beautiful, coming in many shades of pink.
