Brown shield bug with lateral spines on its shoulders.

On Yellow Box sapling

Notes:

Probably feeding on leaf beetle larvae that are prolific on this plant.

Smart bug! I will have to plant one of those soft leaved gums. Nice photo too.
Yes this bug was detected on the same tree as these http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/8477395 There are lots of leaf beetles on this soft leaved gum. Check the reference link to see it feeding on larvae. This bug was perched on a brown dry leaf as if it knew that it was the only leaf it could hide on.
That looks like one not to pick up. Very sharp. You say it's on a yellow-box sapling... looks like a skeletonised leaf rolled up ?
