Field Notes

Description:

Large female wasp spider about 3,5 cm in total. Bright yellow, white and black markings on the abdomen, brown and yellowish striped legs and a shining silvery head. Males of this species of orb-web spiders are brown and much smaller compared to the females. These spiders build spiral orb webs with a zigzag pattern at the centre.

Habitat:

Rural area next to a cornfield.
