Field Notes
Description:
Small scorpion with a body length of 2-4 cm. Redish-brown dorsal surface has 2 black stripes running longitudinally. An arachnid, it has 4 pairs of legs and prey mainly on insects.
Habitat:
Generally found under rocks, fallen logs, discarded sheet metal and plywood, and the like. The only time it is seen "topside" is when it is moving from point A to point B.
Notes:
Although it is generally not considered to be of medical significance, the sting of this scorpion is reported to be excruciatingly painful!
