Description:

A skink of some description I think. The inside of his mouth had a tinge of blue, it was a brownish color with black stripes randomly over it's body, and black tip on the end of it's nose. His tail was gone, so he must have gotten away from something. He was in my house, and we released him back outside.

I just got back from soccer and am attempting to drag my husband outside to hold the torch for me! ; )
He sure does Shanna, did you find any frogs? Thanks Argybee!
Fabulous find and spotting. So like Tiliqua. I had never heard of this genus before so good reading. Thanks.
He has the cutest little face!!
Thanks Goody, that photo looks exact! Thank you for your help! :)
I feel pretty good about the original pink-tongued skink guess. The genus may have changed (oh, taxonomy, you fickle beast), so try Cyclodomorphus gerrardii. Yours looks to be a juvenile, based on the size. Here's a photo that seems to match your lizard: http://www.flickr.com/photos/smacdonald/2169847351
Yes Australia does, it looks similar except the inside of the mouth was a blueish color and there is the dark patch on the end of it's nose. Since it's tail is missing I don't know what it looks like either...I'll dig some. Thanks for the help. :)
That's my best guess at this point. You might dig around a little deeper to make sure it matches. Australia has A LOT of skinks! :-)
