Field Notes

Description:

Brilliant blue coloration makes identifying this passerine in the field fairly simple. The dorsal surface of the bird is blue and the ventral surface is white. The blue jay sports a blue crest.

Habitat:

Blue Jays are fond of woodlands, and are quite common in urban backyards, especially those housing a bird feeder.

Notes:

These birds were photographed at a Black Oil Sunflower Seed feeder.
