Ashish..thanks for the info. The site I referenced is actually from a university in Singapore. So, it is a fairly valid resource but with the vast number of argiopes..it would be easy to misidentify. Not sure which of us is right, guessing someone else will weigh in on the decision helping Toshimi to properly identify.
No problem, either way it is definitely an argiope.
Hi Apple... on internet's many sites anasuja specie is misplaced as versicolor. Its already appeared here. http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/7630318
Interesting Ashish has a different suggestion, you should compare to see which is correct.
Yes, would be a St. Andrew's Cross spider or other common names are Signature Spider, Cross spider, X spider or banded garden spider... It is from the argiope family..not sure which species
