Field Notes

Notes:

This is scat from an American Black Bear found in our school playground by my students. We examined the scat and found that the bear had been eating some kind of berries. We went over to a thicket and found Arrow Wood Vibernum http://plants.usda.gov/plantguide/pdf/pg_vided4.pdf which had some branches pulled over and stripped of the leaves and berries with tooth marks on the branches.
