yes Ashish, i saw a few of the small bats inside the caves... bats do eat lots of insect which are pests to the crops.. so its understandable they are good friends to the farmers. :) @ emma, the Archeological Survey of India is doing a great job in maintaining the Caves... they've enlisted the caves in top priority national monuments group. They don't allow the visitors to shoot their pics with camera flash, since the flash lights can damage the old paintings. *p.s. my regards to Ellora.
I love Ajanta and Ellora.Have they maintained the caves? My neighbour has named her daughter Ellora! after the caves,
Specially to know... Bats of Ajanta caves made history... Its a learning lesson of Bio-diversity. They are saving crops of nearby villages. It was proved few decades back.
thanks Ashish for the ID.... it was a good experience... the place was really nice with lots of birds and langurs.. and it was also of great religious and historical significance. :) a must visit place.
Ajanta Caves is my desired location for spottings... Thanks for reminding it.. Hope you enjoyed it lot.
