Field Notes

Description:

A sparrow sized bird, also called Red Munia, which is red and brown and is covered with white dots. Red bill, crimson rump, tail rounded at the tip. Male in non-breeding and females are brownish with few white dots. Feeble musical call. It is a popular cage bird.

Habitat:

Found in damp grasslands.
