Field Notes

Description:

A tall, tan or reddish antelope with bracket-shaped horns, elongated head, high shoulders and a sloping back. It is lion-toned with lighter rump and nearly no dark markings.

Prefering medium-length grassland, these animals have to drink when the grass is dry; they are among the purest grazers. Coke´s Hartebeest are mostly active early and late in day, but also by night.
Harem herds occupy the most suitable places, but bachelor groups are also a common sight.

Habitat:

Serengeti National Park

Thank you all! I looked at the links Apple & Harsha gave me, I think is a Coke's Hartebeest.
Definitely a hartebeest of some kind.
Great spotting. Looks like a hartebeest, probably either a Lelwel, Lichtenstein's or a hybrid. Not sure which one. Try the following link to do some research: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hartebeest
