Field Notes

Description:

This animal is about 1" long by about 3/8" wide. It was attracted to a light next to the street. These green roaches are the giant cousins to the popular Green Banana Roaches, Panchlora nivea. Adults climb glass, while nymphs cannot.

Habitat:

Tropical dry forest in NW Costa Rica 7 weeks into the 6 month dry season.
