This species is one of the smaller problems of the Azores. Unfortunately Portugal seems a haven for non-native plants.There are so many that fit beautifully in our climate. : (

The same thing is happening in the west of Scotland and Devon/Cornwall in England. Quite often you can see it in someone's front garden and just hopped over the fence on the adjacent roadside bank. In the worst places it's just like this, quite often accompanied by Gunnera manicata in Scotland.

Hello craig Unfortunately it is not a garden. I took the picture in a natural area of the island of St. Miguel - Azores. There were also along the roads ... was introduced as ornalmental plant and dispersed naturally.
