Dandelion
49.1745, -123.953
Field Notes
Description:
Bright yellow flowers with toothy (jaggedy) leaves that grow from the base of the plant. Some people call them a weed but they are actually classified as an herb.
Habitat:
Found in front yard.
Notes:
These flowers are food for bees, including the Mason Bee, which does not produce honey but does play an important role in pollinating plants (and food for humans). I like to let a few dandelions grow in my grass to help these important species survive.
