Field Notes

Description:

Red topside, whitish underside and tips of claws are black.

Habitat:

Protected bays and intertidal areas of Western North America. Their depth can reach up to 100 metres and they prefer rocky substrates, reefs, & coarse to silty sands.

Notes:

So glad my kids didn't try to touch this fellow as they have such a powerful claw nip as to break through a neoprene glove!
