Field Notes

Description:

Brownish-black coloration. Tibiae and tarsi are orange on the front and middle legs. Rear legs have tibial flange that flares outward, and the ends of the rear legs are orange at the tips. Last segment of antennae orange.

Forest

Notes:

This is the only species of Acanthocephala north of North Carolina. Spotted at Barbara A. Beiser Field Station.
