Description:

Red growth I believe to be tree roots sway in the creek. There are Salix trees along this creek.

Habitat:

Creek feeding Lake Hodges at Mule Hill trail.

Cindy thanks for the link to your spotting . It gave me something to compare it with.
Roots usually are brown in color. Looks very much like roots. My spotting however looks more like some water plant
