Field Notes

Description:

A Large beetle seen in summer around flowering plants. It is flattish, a golden brown colour with a black stripe down the middle of its back. It has large and sophisticated antennae for combing flowers.

Habitat:

Open sclerophyll forests Australia.

Notes:

Melolonthinae - part of SCARABAEIDAE

Yes, but we still don't know if it's Woody or Jessie.
He didn't give me much time martin. Crash landed for 30 seconds, adjusted himself a bit, yelled 'YeeHaa' and took off. Made him so easy to identify.
Nice, argybee. He's still tucking his wings away. I haven't seen these yet this summer=(
