Description:

Male Hipparchia statilinus on mullein (Verbascum sp.) leaves.

Habitat:

Mountain meadow near deciduous woodland.

Notes:

Although, in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species, Hipparchia statilinus is assessed as being of Least Concern globally, recently is assessed as being Near Threatened in Europe on the basis of population trends.
