Description:

We have planted a couple of Saffron plants at our back-door garden. We didn’t expect them to grow well, since Tehran is not their usual habitat. But to our surprise, the lovely flowers grew. The flowers appear in autumn, when it starts to get cold. We love to use their dried stigmas as spice in our food.

Exactly Emma, and the pity is that the people, who do the hard work and handpick the stigmas, don’t earn much money.
a treasure. One reason Saffron is so expensive is that the stigma have to be handpicked.
Hi Francis, thanks. It's nice to be here.
It must feel great to be able to grow your own saffron - well done !!
We have to spend a lot on them too, because a few flowers are not sufficient for our consumption. Anyway it is nice to harvest your own Saffron.
It is certainly worth a try. They are pretty flowers anyway.
Fantastic,, and lucky to have this one in back-door garden, we have to spent a lot for Saffron
