Thanks asergio, I thought it was a toad, but it looked quite similar as far as the markings and I cannot find any reference to toads that resemble my spotting... I am a rather amphibious ignorant creature ;) Muchas gracious!
Small wonders, your spoting is of a toad, mine is of a frog. The difference is the bags that toads have in the neck, behind the jaw, one at each side of the head, wich contains a very powerfull venom. They can be seen in your picture. Toads can't spit or innoculate the venom, but it is ejected when the bag is compressed, and can cause very serious problems if it hits the eye or the mouth. Frogs don't have that bag.
