Blue Land Crab - young

The Blue Land Crab is a large burrowing terrestrial crab.
Adults have carapaces (dorsal shell) which range in color from dark blue to various shades of brown to pale gray. Juveniles have brown
carapaces and orange colored legs. Only a single crab occupies a burrow. Small juveniles do not dig their own burrows, and will often
share a burrow with an adult crab. They are mainly vegetarians eating leaves, fruits & grasses collected near their burrows, however they are considered omnivores because they will also eat insects, carrion & are sometimes are cannibalistic.
