Field Notes

Description:

Green tree frog, but not a green tree frog (Hyla cinerea). This frog is definitely a Hyla versicolor. The difference being Hyla cinerea is found in the southern US and has different colour patterns; Hyla versicolor is more grey like this guy, orange/yellow on the hind legs. This guy was more green in appearance at the time of the photo because of his leafy perch. Thanks to JasonO'Connor for the ID tip!

If I recall correctly he may have been about an inch, or maybe a little more, from nose to end.
How small is this little guy?
