Field Notes

Description:

A gathering of tiny black wasps.
Does anyone have a theory for this behavior?

Habitat:

On two eucalyptus leaves.

Notes:

This spotting was very early morning and I assume they were roosting communally overnight.

That's a good idea. I'm sure I've been trying to catch these as individuals but they're all too fast and busy. I'll just go to a wasp motel and wait.
