Description:

small to medium tree to 15m tall with multiple, twisted, grooved or interwoven trunks, hait erect, rather narrow, bark gray, flaky. flowers yeallow about 2.5cm wide. fruit dry, pods to 10 cm long, 3cm wide, glattedned.

Habitat:

moist to seasonally dry forests or second growth. used as living fences and ornamental. pacific slope, sea level to 700m. tropical dry forest in NW Costa Rica 8 weeks into the 6 month dry season
