Field Notes

Description:

A perennial shrub with bright green ovate leaves arrranged opposite each other and bright yellow flowers. It had red berries which eventually turn black.

Habitat:

Moist shady areas of forests. Very invasive and is declared a noxious weed

Notes:

Very invasive and is declared a noxious weed. It is stated that once established, it is very difficult to rid the area of the weed.
The red berries look very attractive but are poisonous. The leaves are stated to have healing properties.
