Borneo Striped Palm Civet

A nocturnal civet having a rest after eating quite some fruits. There were 3-4 of them on this spiky fig tree (Ficus cucurbitina). The small-toothed palm civet may be found across Southeast Asia but the Borneo subspecies (Arctogalidia trivirgata stigmaticus) is quite distinct and could be a separate species upon further taxonomy revision. Epiphytic fig like this spiky fig depends on arboreal animals like this civet to disperse its seeds onto another host tree.
