Field Notes

Description:

We weren't able to photograph (what I presume were) the adult mosquitoes - but they were black with white marking.

Habitat:

These were discovered in a stagnant smelly rock pool on the shoreline, metres from a fur seal (see my upload), and another smaller swarm in another nearby pool (with a purple crab). I was surprised to see them in saltwater.
