The Orange Sulfur, also known as the Colias Eurytheme, is a butterfly that eats nectar. It lives in mowed meadows and fields. It’s from the Pieridae kingdom. Its wingspan is 1 ⅜ inches – 2 ¾ inches. It feeds on nectar from dandelions milkweed, Goldenrods and Asters. It is common in North East/Mid-Atlantic area. A cool fact is it hides from predator on flowers orange or yellow, the color of itself. The males are orange and the females are yellow with a pink outline. Its caterpillar is bluish-green with red and/or yellow markings. The Orange Sulfur can live to 1 year old. Though, they cannot survive cold weather.
