Description:

Tiny frog about 25mm (1") long. Grey brown dorsal surface with greenish brown mottled markings with a larger area of of colour between the eyes. Skin is slightly ridged and there are 3 light coloured pinstripes running up the back. The distance from the end of the snout to the eye is about 1.5x the diameter of the eye itself. (see notes)

Habitat:

Found on the forest trail heading from the river to an oxbow lake on the forest floor in South East Peru within the Amazon Basin.

Notes:

There are two very similar species here. This one and A. andreae. In the field a major physical difference beween the two is that the distance between the eye and the end of the snout is greater in this species. Ref: AmphibiaWeb.
