Description:

An immature fishtail palm. The fishtail palm uniquely has leaves that are subdivided twice. The shape of the leaflets give it its common name. It also has a distinct flowering structure that emerges as a mop-like cluster (not depicted). The palm grows commonly in secondary forests. There are four or more species of Caryota in Papua.

Habitat:

Growing as an ornamental in a large semi-urban yard & garden.
