Field Notes

Description:

Robin like bird with dark band across it's red breast and red stripes above the eye and wing. Males more red, females more orange

Habitat:

In a residential yard by the bay

Notes:

This was taken during a short break in the rain. I managed to get several great spottings, only missing out on what would have been a stunning ruby crowned kinglet if he had held still for another half a second

We have sapsuckers here too: incredibly difficult to take pictures of
interesting! Sorry you missed out on the ruby crowned kinglet! I saw a beautiful Sap sucker twice. Very shy and wild.
