Field Notes

Description:

A grey- coloured moth about 20mm in length with dark flecks on wing. Not much could be seen of the head except for furry tufts on either side above the head.

Habitat:

Eucalypt forests

Notes:

This particular moth was spotted on a pine tree (radiata pine) probably stopping for the day!. This moth was difficult to spot as he/she looked like a piece of bark ( pic #2)
The caterpillars apparently feed on eucalyptus leaves.
